The Copenhagen wheel is an innovative new powered wheel that aims to make it easier for people to try biking. The wheel debuted at the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen in 2009. Copenhagen is a bike-friendly city, but “planners there wanted something that could get even more people riding. That’s where MIT came in. The answer was a self-contained, lithium-ion battery-powered motor in the rear wheel.”
