When it comes to dazzling combinations of show-stopping seascapes and world class bicycling, it’s hard to beat the Oregon Coast. The ride will alternate between charming backcountry roads and picturesque pedaling along sandy beaches and matches each pedal stroke with an indelible mental image of the remarkable scenery.

The ride starts in the bicycle-friendly town of Eugene, then heads north, then northwest, cycling past bucolic vineyards, orchards, and Christmas tree farms. Before long, the route journeys south down the craggy coastline, camping near the beach, and watching waves break near lighthouses to relish the resonant barks of sea lions inside their caves.

This ride will follow rivers for much of its course for relatively gentle grades and lush, rich landscapes as it winds toward the camping destinations. Pack your tent, roll up your sleeping bag, grab your camera, and get ready for a jubilant celebration of wondrous Western Oregon.
