Event Description: Crater Lake is like no other place on earth. The vivid blue lake is almost 2000' deep blue and is surrounded by sheer cliffs that are almost 2000' high. It is truly breathtaking. If your ride up to the rim doesn’t take your breath away, your first sight of the lake certainly will. Our tour includes a ride around part of the famous Rim Drive and an overnight stay in the National Park. Continuing with the lake theme we will stay at the Lake of the Woods Resort and travel through an area dotted with lakes on our way to Ashland and Jacksonville. We will stop for a wine tasting and stay in Jacksonville where we’ll explore the town’s quaint historic district. As we ride though the Applegate Valley we will stop at one of the outstanding local vineyards as we make our way into the Rogue River Valley. We will spend a couple of days exploring the Rogue River Valley before heading to the Jackson County Fairgrounds for the Britt Festival sponsored Sheryl Crow concert. Overnight accommodations are a mix of camping and motels. We will stay at the lodge or cabins at Crater Lake and at a motel while visiting Jacksonville. All other nights will be spent camping – mostly due to the remoteness of our route. Activities include visits to Crater Lake National Park, and the Jacksonville Historic District, wine tastings, and a Sheryl Crow Concert. |
