Tour des Chutes

Take your bike for a spin through the clean air and wide open views of the high desert on Tour de Chutes, a Bend-area ride on July 11 and an important fundraiser for the St. Charles Cancer Survivorship Program.

This popular ride draws eager riders from all over the state for a chance to experience amazing views and a unique landscape in the outdoor playground mecca of Central Oregon.

About the incredible routes

The course follows 18 miles of the Sisters-Smith Rock State Scenic Bikeway. You’ll wind your way from Bend to Lower Bridge Road and the Scenic Bikeway using mostly low traffic country roads as you pass large farm and ranch land with beautiful views of several Cascade Peaks. Once on the Lower Bridge Road, the ride offers incredible high desert scenery, a few climbs, lots of rolling terrain and possibly some on-the-side entertainment as you pass the large Alpaca ranch.

At Redmond, you will head out on a loop with breathtaking views to Smith Rock Park. Turning south, the route traverses the agricultural area west of Redmond, and zig-zags its way back to the town of Tumalo using low traffic rural roads with more sweeping views of the Cascade mountains to the West. From Tumalo, the route gently climbs back to Bend and the well earned Post Ride Party at the venue.
