The Third Annual Cascade to Crown Bicycle Ride on September 15 offers a full day of fun for the entire family. New this year, the ride will offer a chance to ride the brand new connector of the Historic Trail and Historic Highway. This exciting new stretch of the historic highway creates a serene path for bikers and hikers along a section that used to force riders out onto I-84. This ride is an excellent opportunity to be one of the very first people to ride the new segment, which has been years in the making. The four routes – 62, 48, 28, and 10 miles – are designed for all levels, from young children and first time riders to serious cyclists.
Along the route, you will find yourself in the midst of the most gorgeous section of the roadway, passing by notable falls such as Horsetail Falls, Oneonta Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Latourell Falls and of course the grand Multnomah Falls. Sixty-two and 48 mile course riders will pedal all the way to the panoramic Crown Point Vista House for the most spectacular photo moments and breathtaking vistas.
After the ride, a day of family fun activities takes place in the park, with a children’s playground, barbecuing and the Columbia River Sternwheeler. Proceeds benefit the Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon, a non-profit organization.
