BikePortland.org is an independent daily news source that covers all aspects of the Portland bike scene, and this Friday they’re celebrating their 10th anniversary at Velo Cult Bike Shop + Tavern in Portland. BikePortland is widely regarded as one of the largest websites discussing bike news and views.
When founder Jonathan Maus began the website, there was nothing else like it and the media was not regularly covering cycling issues with any sort of a balanced view. Jonathan and his slim team have worked tirelessly over the years to provide a platform for discussing what’s happening in the Portland-area cycling. BikePortland adds in invaluable voice to the conversation and their efforts have made Portland a better (and safer) place to ride.
Congrats, Jonathan! It is impressive what you have accomplished and the tact with which you carry out your (not easy) job. You provided an invaluable resource to the community, and for that ORbike thanks you!
Jonathan is a busy man on a bike, cruising all around town, year round, to interview people and attend events. He wants to look good, but he also needs to stay warm and dry. Jonathan also has the unique desire to be approachable in his style – to not appear overly bikey and potentially alienate the people he is meeting with.
We love Jonathan’s approach to winter biking gear, and we profiled him for our #KeepRiding winter series. View a glimpse of the photoshoot below, and watch the interview here.
