A Portland coupon was walking around town when they were approached by a guy who tried to sell them a black Trek for $250. The guy’s selling desperation made it obvious the bike was stolen so the couple decided to buy the bike in an attempt to reunite it with its owner.
Timo Foresberg is the host of the City of Portland’s Bicycle Brown Bag lunch series and has long history of bicycle activities in Portland. His finance, Esther Harlow, is also an active bicycle advocate in Portland, so it’s no surprise the two of them went out of their way to help get this bike out of the wrong hands and into the right ones.
Timo and Esther talked the thief down to $55 and are hoping to find the owner soon. They’re asking people to help spread the word.
More information is available on their Craigslist post.
